Max sat on the floor, staring at a metal lockbox. He couldn't remember what was inside it- let alone when it entered his life. He just remembered that it had something to do with Jesse and Adam. And eventually, it'd be shared. But for now, it was in his possession.

Max sat silently, spacing out. Was he finally too high? Suddenly, there was a noise inside the box. Slowly, he loomed over the metal box, knocking on it. It was silent, just like it had been moments before. Was he hearing shit? He was too far gone, but he has never experienced Hallucinations. Max picked the box up and aggressively shook it.

Harmonia arrives back home, flopping onto the couch

Max was still shaking the box rather aggressively. Every now and again, something would make a noise inside of it.

"Uhhhhh do you need help, mate?" Harmonia rolls over, looking at the guy in front of her. She's about 5'7 with black ram horns on her head, long black hair, and big red, white, and black butterfly wings. Right now she's wearing a red turtleneck and black leggings with fingerless black gloves.

Max looked up, having been in his own little bubble for four hours. He was almost surprised to see another existence so soon this day. Or was it night? Whatever. "Oh- It's just this box. I've had it for the longest time, but I don't remember anything about it."

"I mean I could open it probably..." She flexes her muscles "I like to think I'm pretty strong." Harmonia grins playfully. S

Max shakes his head. "Thanks, but I think Jesse needs to open it later. I have a feeling it's important." A tiny voice can be heard in response to Jesse's name. It sounds almost worried. Max quickly places the box to his ear, but the voice ceases. "I know the perfect event that should junction with this... I think it's coming up within the next few months, if my veil's time is synced with my phone..."

Harmonia watches him curiously, her red eyes glowing ever so slightly. "Alrighty. Jesse was the kid you wanted to mess with, right?"

Max nods, starting to pet the box. "Yeah, but events have to line up according to Knowingness's chart, and that's just a lot of waiting on Jesse. Just a lot of waiting in general." Max starts to pick at his boots, staring for a moment before looking back up at Harmonia. "I really wanna get him... I wanna smudge up the kid's brain real bad. Knowingness says I can go all out for this, and I wanna do it right."

Harmonia watches him, curiouser and curiouser. "Do you have a YouTube channel or something? From what I can tell, everyone seems to have one. It's like the marker of the supernatural or some shit. Also, mind if I ask why you want to get him?" Her wings are folded behind her back to make her position more comfortable, using her hand to prop up her head.

"Yeah, I was told by higher-ups that documentation of the process was more than necessary." Max digs his hand into his backpack and pulls out a Sony TRV-33. He checks to make sure there was a tape inside of it before stuffing it back where it came from. "Long story short, I wanna kill people, God says I can work for him and kill as many people as I like, with the exception of three. Of course I take the offer, y’know?"

"Eh, fair enough. Really not one to judge considering the shit I've done and the company I keep. So you're from a veil where the sky’s blue, yeah? How do you feel about this world?" Harmonia watches his movements carefully, shifting her position so she's sitting up on the couch.

Max moved very fluently, without any real hiccups. There were slight jolts and jitters, but for the most part, he was still. "It's different, so it's automatically like- ten times better, I guess."

"Fair enough." She cracks a smile. "So what's your YouTube channel? I figure I should watch it instead of bombarding you with questions about shit that might be traumatic."

Max pulls out a laptop and navigates to his channel. He then hands the laptop to her, displaying the SmileForMe channel.

"Epic." Harmonia takes a picture of it with her phone and puts it back in her pocket. She hands the laptop back.

Max shuts the laptop and slides it back into his backpack. "Yeah. But to you know... get Jesse, I think I'm gonna kill his sister. Or his dad. Maybe his mom? I'm not sure. But I want it to really affect him over the long run."

"I mean I took a guy's eyes once and that seemed to fuck him up? Then again that was a revenge thing." Harmonia couldn't help but feel bad for Jesse. He seemed like a normal person based on their discussion so far... But it wasn't her business. She had a world to save, some random guy can fend for themself. "You hungry? Or thirsty? I have food-"

Max thought about the eye thing. He pulled out a beat-up notebook and began to scribble in it. "Do you have any of that off-brand root beer shit? That's like, my liquid crack."

“I’d have to check. I mean I know we have root beer but it's like… Mug or something? I don’t think that’s off-brand.”

When Harmonia mentions Mug, Max seems to perk up. His dad used to buy it for him before he found out it was all Max was drinking. "Yes PLEASE- No question about it."

Harmonia smiles and stands up. “Gotcha.” She briefly leaves to the kitchen before returning with two bottles of the drink, handing one to Max and cracking her own open.

Max cracks the bottle open, taking a large S W I G of that pure Mug Rootbeer. Damn, that's good. "DAMN, that's good... missed the hell out of that."

Harmonia laughs a bit. “I’m glad I was able to reunite you with your love. Whatcha drawin?”

"Not really drawing, per se? But I AM compiling a list of things I wanna do to fuck over Jesse." Max was incredibly hellbent on making the process hard for Jesse. It would refine him and make him the perfect candidate for that mysterious potion prophecy.

Harmonia nods and the two fall into a comfortable silence.
