Pluvio ends up atop a large mall. The city is coated in a dense, grey-blue fog. She readies her glock.
An apartment complex falls, dust rising. A screech is heard, followed by laughter.
Pluvio chuckles at this, and starts to run across the roof of the mall.
A shadowy figure follows her closely.
Pluvio takes a grenade out of her bag and throws it back as she jumps off the mall's roof, blowing the shadow person to pieces, along with part of the mall.
She lands on the asphalt, seemingly easily and without hurting herself. She can barely see in the fog.
A dark-shelled demon emerges from the fog and Pluvio shoots it point blank. She waits patiently for the others to arrive.
There is a flash of green distortion as Spider, Harmonia and Knight appear next to Pluvio.
"So what we got?" Spider asks.
“Who we killing?” Knight asks.
Harmonias giddy and grinning, her shotgun on her back and pistol on her side.
"Ahh, Miss Spider and her sunny patch friends are here, sweet," Pluvio says, resting her arm on her messenger bag, "We got some fog demons! Thank Abby for the fun we're about to have."
Another building crumbles and falls in the distance. More screeching.
“Sweet.” Knight responds.
Harmonia looks around, her eyes glowing ever so slightly as she draws her claws. "So I can kill them like normal people right? Or do I need to do soul bullshit.”
"They're simple. They die like normal people, probably easier." Pluvio explains.
"Win.” Harmonia says.
“Fuck yeah!” Knight responds.
Spider chuckles. "So all that build up for this?"
"Hey Spi, can't be harder than those wrath demons the other night, right?" Harmonia says.
"There's like, a lot of them," Pluvio says, nearly getting cut off by a loud crunching sound from far away and more screeching.
"I barely remember that Harm.” Spider laughs.
Harmonia cracks her knuckles and extends her claws. "Well you'll remember it this time! What are we, the demon killing duo?" She laughs.
Something slithers up Harmonia's leg.
Harmonia snatches it and sees that it’s a dark red vine. She uses her claws to cut it off of her and throws it to the ground. "Ugh Abaddon's so fond of me isn't he.”
Spider chuckles. “Seems it.”
“Yikes.” Knight comments.
A tall, hooded, black figure with deep white eyes tackles Harmonia to the ground. More of the red vines are attached to its back, and start to spread around Harmonia's body.
Knight starts shooting at the figure.
Harmonia screams and struggles, trying to get it off.
It falls dead, its eyes melting into a watery substance.
“Yeah.” Pluvio says.
“What the fuck.” Knight comments.
Harmonia tries to cut the vines off but it doesn’t work. They don’t seem to restrict her movement at all and are painless.
"Hey so bad news, they aren't coming off.” Harmonia gets up, trying to pull them off and failing.
"Huh, weird," Pluvio says, looking down at her. Something starts to happen on one of them, something grows out of it. A small bud. And then another. And another. At least six of them, distributed across the several vines attached to her.
“The fuck?” Spider says.
“Heh?” Knight says.
"Uh..." Harmonia stares at them, trying to cut the buds off and failing once again. “What the fuck do I do?”
"Just accept it I guess, I mean you're already a fuckin... what are you, a ladybug?" Pluvio responds.
"Im a fuckin butterfly dumbass! The wings are right here!" Harmonia responds, offended.
"Ohh, that makes sense. I mean, it'd fit your little aesthetic, wouldn't it? I don't see the issue, personally." Pluvio says.
Harmonia stands up and sighs. "Guess not but still. Don’t exactly want stupid Abaddon plants on me. Guess we gotta start fighting??"
"Well we could try slicing them out but I don't know how much you're gonna like that.” Spider offers.
"It's better than becoming a host for a parasite.” Harmonia sighs.
“I’ll be on healing duty.” Knight says.
"Okay, we can do that after the-" Pluvio sees something moving in the fog and she throws a grenade at it. A dark, animal-like head rolls out from the explosion. Too many eyes on it to be any animal, though.
Harmonia takes out her pistol and stares at it for a moment. "Christ. Okay fight time.” She starts walking into the fog.
Knight, Pluvio, and Spider follow, keeping an eye out for enemies.
Knight can see something moving in the distance. It appears to be long, many legs, snaking quietly between the buildings. “Fuck that.”
The vines are covering almost every building.
Knight takes out a rifle. “Do you guys see that?”
“See what? The vines fucking everywhere?” Harmonia asks.
“Oh yeah the vines- I’m talking about the giant fucking monster!” Knight responds.
"So nothing too fancy then.” Spider jokes.
“I didn’t see that, no.” Harmonia responds.
“Also we can all agree we’re burning all of the vines right?” Knight asks.
“Okay maybe don’t set me on fire right now-“ Harmonia responds.
"You really have an arson problem don't you?" Spider chuckles.
“Eh, fire is pretty.” Knight says.
Breathing can be heard from all around. Deep breathing. Hungry breathing.
“Ah, right on cue.” Spider says.
“Okay I hate this.” Harmonia looks for something to shoot.
But she didn't look behind her. In a flash of green, they're all swallowed whole.
