Maiden appears covered in boiling tar and a note that reads, "from death take this witch away from me and my cookies"

The tar melts away from her body, and Maiden finds herself in a forest. The trees are lush, the grass is perfect, there are colorful flowers everywhere. The sky is blue, sunny and cloudless. There are radio towers in the distance, repeating endlessly. She can here people nearby, playful and happy.

"What in the-? This must be a mistake. Where am I?" Maiden moves toward the sounds of happy people. It’s farther away than she thought. They sound like they’re having a good time. Maiden stops, knowing she does not deserve any of that happiness as she just wanders around aimlessly. She hears it from all around. People conversing, people hanging out, people being friends. Eventually, she comes across a pair of deer. Just like Melody. They stop what they’re doing, mid conversation, and look to her with confusion. She is intruding.

"Hm? Oh? Hello? Can you tell me where I am?"

“…Uh. I…” One deer is reluctant to speak. The other hurries away, holding the hand of their friend to make sure they follow along. She is alone in the woods once more.

"Oh.... um.. I'm sorry.... I'm sorry I scared you.."

Nobody responds. She hears the talking again.

Is she jealous? Yes. She wish she had that. That friendship. Isn’t that just unfortunate! Well, nobody is coming to talk to her. She continues to walk. It’s just forest for miles. She passes more deer as she wanders, but none try to interact with her. As she walks, the leaves and flowers beneath her start to.. crunch, if thats the sound. Her footsteps sound a bit heavier and her legs feel kinda… numb and as if they’re being pricked with needles. You know the "sleeping limb” feeling! Maidens sits down to look at her legs, trying to 'wake them up'. Her feet have been replaced with deer hooves. It seems while she wasn’t looking, from the knee down, her legs became those of a deer. Her fur carries the pattern of a usual white tail deer. The fur seems to be slowly creeping up her legs as they… shift, changing before her eyes to become entirely those of a deer. It’s unnervingly painless.

"What in the worlds?!" Maiden scooches back up against a tree as she just stares in horror, "What in the- this can't be- what is going on?!"

Oh, no! It’s certainly happening. The fur reaches her waist and her legs fully transform before her eyes. The fur is soft! Comforting, even. …Well, it would be, at least. Not while it’s on her in this moment, that’s for sure! While she’s touching her legs, the fur spreads to her hands. Her nails turn black and begin to grow, feeling of numbness spreading over her entire body. Maiden looks to her hands as she curls up in a ball and closes her eyes, "If I just close my eyes everything will be ok... everything is going to be ok..."

Unknown to her, while her eyes are closed, they become red and green respectively. Her nails grow out to claws, sharp enough to be used for some tasks, and the fur begins to spread up her arms and torso. She begins to get a throbbing, painful feeling on her head. It is made even worse by the otherwise numb of her body. Antlers grow forth from her head, quickly blooming roses and being wrapped around by vines. As the fur finally reaches her head, her transformation into a demon of Envy is completed. Her skull cracks and shifts, becoming that of a deer, muzzle and all. Deer ears too! Her tail is cramped in her pants.

Maiden opens her eyes in a panic, “I- I-I… someone?! Help me… I…” She looks to her hands as tears fall. She’s alone. Maiden looks around for anyone. Anyone to help her or anywhere to go. “Hello? Anyone?” There's the entire forest to explore! She hears people playing in water nearby. Maiden follows the people's voices. She stumbles across a lake beach full of Envy demons playing about. The lake is... massive, really. She can see an entire community of log cabins.

Maiden waves the demons down, “Hello? Where am I? What happened to me?”

The lifeguard turns to face her. They wear sunglasses and a bathing suit. Deer, obviously. "Huh?"

“Do you know where I am?”

"Lakeside's beach, why?"

“What happened to me… I’m not supposed to be here… I think…”

"..Ohhh!! Ohhh. Haha, I see. You're one of those weirdo demons who used to be people, IIII seeee." says the Lifeguard, "Welp! Welcome to Envy."

“Envy? Like the seven deadly sins?”

"I guess? I meant like... the layer. But sure, the 'sin' if you feel like sending yourself into an extestential Crisis about who you really are."

“Ok… then why I am now… a deer? Is this some funny joke of karma?”

"You were sent to Hell! You became a demon! Get used to it."

“Oh… of course…” Maiden looks around, “So what now?”

"You start a new life! Or beg for a way to leave, who knows."

“I don’t know… I don’t think the people up there would miss me anyways…”

"Who knows." They throw her a phone. "Here. Hell has great wifi."

“Oh.. um. thanks… I’ll give them a chat… we will see.” Maiden cries as she looks to the phone, seeing that those who used to be her friends no longer care for her due to her actions, “C-called it...”

"You probably did something to deserve it then. Cope, I guess!"

“Yea… I deserve all of this… I’ll just find a cabin or whatever and call it home..”

"Sounds like a plan."

Maiden summons a vine hammock against 2 trees and lays down on it as she cries.
