Kade is walking in the woods while keeping his gaze close to the ground. He furrows his eyebrows as he walks into the forestry, trying to stave off the glimpse of a memory he had gotten, but it couldn't stop it from simply repeating in his head.
At the same time, Cerberus got a sliver of the sight of the angel and his left head, Kade had also gotten a brief glance into one of his own.
The barrel of a shotgun, then the sudden feeling of unimaginable pain before he was snapped out of it, just as quick as it happened.
He flinches just at the recollection of the nightmare. As much as he wanted to push it to the back of his head, it simply remained, playing when his eyes closed, playing when he heard any gunshot, playing over and over when all he wanted was to shove it away and never think of it again.
It was unlike his nightmares. Even though they had scared him, they never stuck. Why did this stick? It was just like his nightmares but.. more... Real. Who was he? What did he do to deserve this?
Kade felt the tears beginning to swell in his eyes. In frustration, despair, anger, and every bad emotion he could possibly settle on, trying to steady his breathing.
Despite the horrifying memory being there, it influenced him, he wanted to know more, but at the same time, he was scared of what he could've been, and if it'd affect him now.
Kade sighs, hands in his pockets as he takes a moment to just stare at the sky and gaze into the moon to try and clear his head. He eventually gives a weak sigh, wiping the tears from his face.
"WANT TO GET A DRINK?" Cerberus asks.
"..Sure, I think it could help some," Kade replies, then begins to turn around and walk from where he came from.
"How's it feel for you, Cerb? Just gaining a new memory after years of not feeling a thing off."
"IT'S... STRANGE. BUT I'D LIKE TO KNOW WHAT ELSE I'D HAVE MISSED. HAVING AN ANGEL TARGET ME SPECIFICALLY SOUNDS LIKE A BIG DEAL."
"Yeah... Looks like we've both had something after our heads! Haha... hm. What was the old left like?"
"WELL... HM. SLOPPY. RAVENOUS. AND SMUG. OTHER THINGS, TOO.."
"Why doesn't the right talk as much as us two?"
"WELL, WE'RE RARELY WITH ALL THREE HEADS FOR LONGER THAN A DAY. IT BARELY MATTERS AS MUCH. WE BASICALLY SAY WHAT'S NEEDED, Y'KNOW? IF I HANDLE IT, NO NEED TO TALK MUCH."
"Yeah.. makes sense." Kade continues walking for a while, occasionally glancing to his left and right. He didn't wander too far out into the forest, right? He became rather accustomed to it by now, knowing where he went and how to leave, but now.. he felt lost.
"We should've been back 20 minutes ago. Are you kidding me?" Kade asks.
"DID YOU GET LOST?"
"Lost? We've been around here for months! What could I have done to get lost now." Kade groans. "Fucking great." In his frustration, he began to run. Running as fast as he could, before eventually coming to a stop in a clearing.
"This makes no sense- where the fuck.." Kade starts to walk through the clearing, gritting his teeth as he looks around himself.
The creaking of branches comes from the other end of the clearing, causing Kade to turn his head to face the sound directly.
"Fucking.. Great." Kade takes a small step back from the breaking of tree branches, staring in the direction of it, as the moon beamed down overhead.
Long locks of messy hair, tangled with leaves, branches, foliage, mushrooms, and more, rise from the bushes, a head with a long neck. definitely not belonging to a human rising out after. He can see one eye, staring at him as it tilts its head to the side, like a strange, curious animal.
Kade knew exactly what it was. How long had it been.. a month? Two?
"Cerb the fucking thing is back. It's probably why we haven't left the forest yet. Goddamn amazing."
"YOU CAN HANDLE IT."
Kade lets out a shaky breath as he watches it. It slowly pulls itself from the leaves and foliage, towards him. He swallows his frustration and fear and speaks up once more.
"I know you can speak. What do you want from me?"
It simply stares, head remaining tilted to the side. He can hear a voice, most akin to a chalkboard having metal scraped against it for how ear-grating it is despite not physically hearing it.
”𝙸 𝓢єέк oƚ 𝓊ℕ𝔻𝒆ℝs𝓣𝐚几𝐃 ꪗꪮꪊ.”
Kade winces as he backs away, taking a pained gasp of air as he remains upright nonetheless. "What the fuck do you mean-"
The voice bellows out louder, making him flinch all the more. ”𝖄𝖔𝖚 𝓻𝓮𝓼𝓽𝓻𝓪𝓲𝓷 ɟlǝsɹnoʎ ꜰʀᴏᴍ 𝔂𝐨𝐮я 𝕠𝕨𝕟 ᭙ꪖꪀꪻᦓ. ʸᵒᵘʳ σɯɳ ռɛɛɖֆ. ყơų ąཞɛ ʂɬąཞ۷ɛɖ.”
Kade backs up, flinching still, but unsure how to respond, not wanting to break eye contact with it, while still simply wanting to be away.
”𝔻𝕠 վօմ ᴎɒɘm ȶօ, ᎧᏒ ΉΛƧ ₮ⱧɆ ᒪᘿᗩSᕼ 𝕊σ 𝐓ᎥᎶђt 𝓨σᑌ'v乇 ŦσŘᎶᵒ𝓽Ⓣ𝐞𝓷 հօա?”
"Oh, fuck off-" Kade huffs, holding his head with one hand to try and relieve the pain, while still keeping his distance, starting to try and summon his hammer, but being unable to in his attempts.
In the meantime, the dromen continues to crawl out from the forestry and into the clearing, not breaking eye contact with him.
Kade’s head pounds with the weight and repetitiveness of a jackhammer. His legs begin to feel weak, as he continues to remain upright nonetheless.
”||iW ʏᴏᴜ 𝑒𝓂𝒷𝓇𝒶𝒸𝑒¿ ꪮ᥅ 𝓌𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝔲ʳᎶ𝕖ˢ 𝕔𝕒𝕝𝕝 Ⴆყ ʄօʀƈɛ. ЩΣ ЩIᄂᄂ ƧΣΣ.”
Kade forces out a growl, nearly collapsing and breaking eye contact, but he quickly regains his footing with a huff, shaking quite a bit, both from fear settling in and an aching pain throughout his body.
He looks up at it, baring his fangs as he prepares to yell at it, only to be faced with nothing.
Nothing but the moon remains above, and the complete silence of the forestry around him.
He shudders, holding his head still as it pounds with the weight of a hammer.
“F-fuck this, I need.. a drink. I need. A drink.." He immediately tries to run back to the house.
Kade thumps onto the ground with a groan and a terrible headache. Something pounds in his chest, akin to a constant throbbing pain.
