Brian and Enoch appear in a void. They’re on an invisible platform in what appears to be space, yet he can breathe just fine. There’s an irritating burning sensation at his fingertips.

L1MB0 sits on the ground, slightly slumped over. Their tv displays an old-school text adventure with rudimentary pixel art displaying a scene.

”So. Brian.”

Brian looks at his fingers, scrunching his nose a bit and he looks down at Enoch, before sitting down himself. "Yes?"

”How're you feeling? Honestly. You’ve just met your daughter and some of her friends, yet you barely seemed surprised at the state of things.”

He sighs, fiddling with his fingers a bit in discomfort. "Numb, I suppose? Maybe I've just buried things too deep to surface but it just seems like another day that I'm alive."

”Right. Well, how long do you plan on sticking around? How involved do you plan on being?” Enoch asks.

"I'm not sure. I don't have anywhere else to go at the moment, and they seem comfortable. If I don't stay in her home, then I'll at least stay close."

”Then try not to die. You’ve lived long enough, but you haven’t lived like them.” Enoch holds out a staticky key. “You’re a human for now and your protection won’t get you that far when dromen are the least of their worries. If you get attacked, run. Chances are you can’t win. I doubt you’ve got the luck Harmonia does with getting out of certain…. Situations. And, heads up. You’ve got a lot of eyes on you now. A lot of very untrusting eyes.”

Brian sighs and nods, pulling out his gun and opening it up, mindlessly doing some maintenance while he drafts a response in his head. “I don't fancy running… but I know my limits. I've survived well enough on my own with what I have, but that's in scale with what I've had to face. What do you mean by untrusting eyes watching me?”

”…” Enoch drops the key on Brian's lap. “Not a gift person? Alright. Want the full list?”

Brian looks at the key, careful not to touch it. "I don't fancy magical-looking items from Gods I know little about, but sure."

”Dude, it’s literally just a key. Takes you to a safe space. Pretty sure you have more than enough reasons to trust me? Also, I’m not giving you the full list that was a joke. Just… You’re gonna have to prove yourself to her friends. You’re being watched by a couple of major MAJOR demons. The Playwright’s a bit fed up with me, but it’s not unexpected. Keep it in mind, is all.”

Brian nods, taking the key and pocketing it cautiously. "I'm quite aware that I'll have to prove myself. I can't expect them to be trusting in an apocalypse, I know I'm not. And that's expected, it's always fed up with something."

”Good that you’re aware. Nice talk, Brian.” Flames suddenly consume the area around Brian. He disappears untraumatized.
